New finds from treasures found
It was a joy to find these beautiful Kantha quilts traditionally made to re-purpose the beautiful designs from vintage saris. These blankets are made in such a simple way and have so much variety. Some are patched all over, some are wildly colorful, some clash like crazy but ALL are works of art. Use them on the bed, on the couch, on the beach, at the picnic or the wall.
Tracking down the artisans in India and finding more designs to bring to market brought us to discover many more treasures to bring to you. Bags and scarves made from silk and cotton Kantha, pillow covers and table textiles made from vintage tribal clothing, and gorgeous hand block printed cotton, made with vegetable dyes. We also met many artisans and learned about their work and lives, and getting their products into the global marketplace helps improve all of our lives together.
Bringing the goods to market is the best- seeing the products new in the eyes of the beholder- meeting people in the marketplace and working with other makers and sellers. We travel to local festivals and pop-up in shows and shops. We look forward to seeing you soon!!
